Learning Support

We have a Learning Support Teacher whose role is to meet the needs of individual students who need extra help in the classroom. Children with specific learning problems can have the school program adjusted or modified according to their needs.

Classroom teachers work collaboratively with the Learning Support Team, specialists and parents to modify classroom programs, devise new programs of teaching and identify appropriate resources to create learning and social opportunities for students with special education needs. Learning support can be provided one-on-one or in small groups with a Teacher’s Aide.

Our focus for learning support is on early intervention and detection of difficulties with learning. Students’ progress is monitored and assessed regularly. If any student needs assistance with their learning they are given support program in class and parents are given tools to help their children at home.

Our Learning Support Program focuses on respect for the dignity of each child to give them every opportunity and support to reach their full potential.
