Dear Parents
Year 1 hosted the Parish Family Mass last Sunday with a large number of our families in attendance. This was the first Family Mass that our school has hosted since the beginning of the pandemic. Thank you to the teachers for preparing the children and being there and to all the parents who were able to bring the children along.
Congratulations to the nine mums who were the lucky prize winners in the Mother’s Day Raffle drawn at Monday morning’s assembly. There were some wonderful prizes donated by a few of our families and it was great to see the joy on the children’s faces when they heard their family name being called. Once again, thank you to the P&F committee for the organisation of the raffle and to those who so generously donated the prizes.
The P&F is busily preparing for next Friday’s Cocktail Evening. Twenty tickets have been sold just in the last day. Ticket sales will remain open until Sunday evening. If you haven't purchased tickets yet, consider buying some over the weekend and join us in what will be an enjoyable social gathering for our St Kieran’s community. Remember, there are some great lucky door prizes to be won including a $500 Roar and Snore voucher that entitles you to a night at Taronga Zoo with dinner and breakfast provided!
The Term 2 P&F Meeting will be held on Monday at 6.30pm in The Hub. On the agenda will be topics such as fundraising, uniforms and 'The St Kieran's Advantage'. The new P&F committee is looking forward to having many of our families in attendance.
Today we had the pleasure of hosting a morning tea and school tour for a few of the local pre-school directors. They were able to see the Kindergarten students in action during Literacy time and were delighted to see the faces of many of their past pupils. Next month we will be holding an education session for pre-school teachers where they will hear how children are taught Literacy and Numeracy in “big school”! Our visitors today were so impressed with how much the children have grown in their learning in just six months!
We are looking forward to Monday’s Athletics Carnival as well as the 200 Years of Catholic Education Mass being held in St Kieran’s Church. The carnival will go ahead in wet weather so ensure your child has warm clothing packed and wet weather gear just in case.
God bless,
Michael Gallagher
